INTERREG – Information

FUSION forms part of the European Interreg France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen cross-border cooperation programme. This Interreg programme aims to foster economic and social exchanges between four border regions covering 62,000 km² and more than 11 million inhabitants:

– In France: the Departments of Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Aisne, Ardennes, Oise, Somme and Marne in France;

– In Belgium :
  - the provinces of Hainaut, Namur and Luxembourg in Wallonia;
  - the provinces of West Flanders and East Flanders (only the districts of Ghent and Oudenaarde) in Flanders.

This programme allocates European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) resources between the selected projects.

There are 5 cooperation themes. FUSION falls under theme 2 – Climate and environment: strengthening the resilience and adaptation of territories to risks linked to climate change.

Specific objective 2.4: To promote adaptation to climate change, as well as disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches.
